Bloggers are journalists?

Thanks to an updated version of the Free Flow of Information Act, bloggers can now claim they might be protected under what is being called the "reporters shield". This bill is very vague. There is no clear line between who is a so-called journalist and who is just some schmuck with a keyboard. I want to make it clear that I am just a schmuck with a keyboard and i believe there are a dozen times more people like me blogging than there are protected journalists.

That being said, I do think you should be able to say whatever you want online, as long its not resulting in the actual bodily harm of others, like that abortion doctor hit list site from class. As for bloggers not having to give their sources, I didn't think that bloggers had enough credibility to be even worth pursuing demanding their sources, but i suppose that it was inevitable.
